Greece Trip | Mykonos

After leaving Santorini, we made our way to Mykonos on a Sea Jets ferry out of the port of Thira. The ferry was very nice, and I highly recommend taking the ferries as an option to see the different islands. Of course, sailing would be best, but that's another trip for the future! We stayed at the Hotel Mykonos Essence and it was very nice. In the summer, I can image it would be the perfect place to stay. In October, it was a tad chilly in the pool (though we both still did the plunge). We're used to the Med water temps, but we were the only ones to brave it in the group.

Our first full day in Mykonos, our tour director set up Quad rentals for the group. After gassing up, Nate and I took our cute green quad to another side of the island to check out some beautiful beaches. First, we made our way to Paradise beach, where we had some expensive beach cocktails. It was a breezy day, but we were still able to get some sun. I can only imagine that place is completely packed during the high season. After leaving Paradise, we went to SUPER Paradise beach. I can confirm that it was 'super!' We brought a bottle of wine and had an amazing time drinking Santos wine and swimming in the crystal clear waters.

We had some time before our tour to relax. We decided to take a walk around the island and got an appetizer before heading back for our tour. We had some absolutely delicious baked cheese and meatballs. Mmm!

We took a culinary walking tour through old town Mykonos. I would not recommend this tour, but I can see how it would be easy to get lost in the small, winding roads of Mykonos. None of the houses are marked with addresses. Our tour guide told us that the postal workers have to memorize the houses and families so they can deliver the mail.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Mykonos! The water was beautiful. The swimming and diving were fantastic. I'm completely hooked now. Santorini was our favorite island by far, and we are excited to check out Crete next!
